Our Sumatra Organic Coffee comes from farmers located on the Gayo Mountain Terraces of northern Sumatra, between forests and rice paddies. Committed to environmental sustainability and organic farming practices, they produce an extraordinary dark roast coffee full of earthy notes and leathery texture perfect for both morning brews or afternoon treats.

Studies have demonstrated that regularly drinking Sumatra dark roast can help improve metabolism and promote weight loss through thermogenesis – the process by which stored fats are broken down for energy. Drinking coffee has also been linked to reduced rates of chronic illnesses including heart disease and certain cancers; its chlorogenic acids and polyphenols may improve blood vessel function, decrease inflammation, and potentially prevent the risk of atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

Sumatra dark roast’s caffeine content enhances cognitive function and alertness, with studies suggesting it could also lower risk of neurological disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. This Sumatra dark roast comes from Kopepi Ketiara Cooperative in Takengon, Sumatra; a Fairtrade certified community owned and operated mill. There are 1100 members in total with 70% being female members receiving an extra premium which goes toward projects which benefit their community such as education, medical treatment and sanitation initiatives.
