When people think of coffee, words such as fresh roast, full-bodied, mocha and Starbucks may come to mind; but one word likely won’t – mushroom! However, according to Shane Morand, co-founder and chief executive officer of Organo Gold Coffee Roasters LLC. “Mushrooms are at the core of Organo Gold‘s success,” says Shane. More specifically, this coffee contains Ganoderma – an ancient variety of mushroom that grows on wood and has been used in traditional Asian medicine for more than 4,000 years. Morand says the goal of Organo Gold’s KISS operating system, which has proven instrumental to its rapid growth in only three short years.
