Is Old Town White Coffee in Singapore Halal?
Old Town White Coffee in Singapore Is Halal Its Old Town White is an iconic cafe chain from Malaysia and the country’s biggest kopitiam (coffee shop). Established in 1999 in Ipoh, they’ve since opened cafes across Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia and Australia – currently owned by Jacobs Douwe Egberts Holding Asia NL BV from Holland.
Their menu boasts traditional local favorites like their signature white coffee and Ipoh hor fun (silky noodles topped with tender chicken and aromatic soup). With friendly service and cosy yet comfortable surroundings, this cafe makes an excellent place for family reunions or casual get-togethers.
Old Town White Coffee in East Coast Park is their inaugural outlet in Singapore and they plan to open more. Most of their outlets recently received Halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia; this should attract more Muslim customers into their cafes. Furthermore, all equipment, ingredients, and cleaning procedures meet Jakim halal requirements – hence why their food and beverages are considered halal here.
