Is Dunkin Donuts Coffee Organic?
Dunkin Donuts may be best known for its donuts, but they also offer an extensive selection of coffee beverages. Their signature brewed coffee features premium Arabica beans that have been carefully chosen and roasted for their rich, smooth taste. In addition, Dunkin Donuts offers several decaf options to meet customer preferences without impacting caffeine intake.
Consumers of freshly brewed coffee are often concerned about its source and how it was grown. Some may opt for organically produced beans because these don’t use synthetic pesticides and fertilizers – however not all brands offer them and only some may provide evidence of organic credentials.
Dunkin Donuts has announced, in response to increased consumer concerns about how coffee is produced, that all domestically-sourced beans will become Fair Trade Certified by 2022. This initiative will improve both economic and social welfare for coffee farmers involved. Furthermore, Dunkin Donuts continues their partnership with WCR (World Coffee Research), a non-profit collaborative research program of the global coffee industry, by funding sustainable efforts which benefit farmers worldwide.
While not currently selling organic coffee, the brand does offer various flavored blends made with Fair Trade ingredients and certified premium Arabica beans from Rainforest Alliance farms to ensure farmers receive fair compensation for their product. They also encourage their customers to support local independent coffee retailers that adhere to ethical purchasing practices more readily than large corporations do.
One pound of Dunkin Donuts Original Blend coffee requires the harvesting and processing of an entire tree’s crop; to keep our guests satisfied and caffeinated, we rely on a consistent supply of high quality beans from trusted sources such as our franchisees and suppliers to purchase Fair Trade Certified(tm) beans sourced and traded according to Fair Trade USA certification standards ensuring farmers receive a premium for their efforts.
