One of the most frequently asked questions we receive about organic decaf coffee is about its caffeine content. As with all decaf, organic decaf may contain trace amounts depending on brewing method and bean variety and roasting method, though even those sensitive or intolerant of caffeine still stand to gain from drinking decaf coffee and caffeinated drinks and foods (among others) regularly as there has been significant independent scientific evidence connecting decaf with increased longevity, decreased risk for multiple cancers and chronic diseases, among other benefits.

All decaffeination methods utilize chemical processes to extract about 97% of the caffeine found naturally in green coffee beans, since caffeine molecules bind tightly with lipids present within coffee beans and must be broken free through dissolution in order to be extracted. All methods have been approved as safe by food safety regulators in both the U.S. and other countries.
