Ganoderma Coffee Side Effects
Ganoderma (reishi mushroom) is an extremely potent fungus with purported health benefits. Unfortunately, none have been verified scientifically.
NPRA received nine (9) local reports regarding adverse reactions related to Ganoderma lucidum/lingzhi coffee products, such as increases in creatinine and urea levels in blood, worsening of existing kidney impairments, etc.
1. Diarrhea
Ganoderma Coffee combines the beneficial properties of Reishi Mushrooms and classic Coffee in one convenient beverage, making it an excellent option for people suffering from digestive issues as it contains significantly less acidity than standard coffee and has fewer side effects. Furthermore, adding Lion’s Mane to this beverage helps further its beneficial properties; improving cognitive function and mental sharpness while simultaneously reducing stress levels, strengthening immunity systems and creating balance and homeostasis in its users.
Reishi fungus has long been esteemed for its healing powers, with research supporting many of its traditional uses. Studies show that Reishi can increase resistance to oxidative stress while strengthening immune response systems; its antiviral, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties may also have significant antiviral properties as well as being antibacterial in nature. Reishi also can lower cholesterol, regulate blood pressure levels, improve metabolism.
Reishi mushrooms greatly elevate the flavor of coffee, providing a harmonious marriage of comforting freshly roasted bean aroma and earthy tones of reishi fungus. Furthermore, making and drinking reishi coffee offers a moment of mindfulness and intentionality, allowing drinkers to focus on appreciating each sip while also mindfully appreciating all that comes together into its delicious package.
However, not every individual who tries reishi coffee has the same experience; some consumers have reported diarrhea from drinking this beverage – this could be particularly serious for individuals taking medications or already suffering from existing health conditions – so it is wise to consult a physician prior to trying Ganoderma coffee or any health supplement products from Organo Gold (organogold products contain dangerous blood-thinning properties and failed to provide sufficient warnings on their website or packaging). A Delaware class action filed by Phillip Edwards of Murphy & Landon claims Organo Gold failed to adequately warn consumers about these risks as per class action filed in Delaware class action lawsuit by Phillip Edwards of Murphy & Landon claims Organo Gold products contain dangerous blood-thinning properties and failed to provide sufficient warnings about risks on its website or packaging warning about risks before purchasing Organo Gold products from Organo Gold (organogold products contain mushrooms with potentially blood-thinning properties), yet lack adequate warnings regarding these risks on either packaging or website or packaging information regarding risks from Organo Gold products containing potentially blood-thinning properties without adequate warning of risks based upon organo Gold’s website or packaging information regarding these risks regarding risk associated with product packaging or web presence of Organo Gold’s failed provide adequate warning about risks due to organo Gold’s products containing such properties; additionally Phillip Edwards claims against Organo Gold products with blood-thinning properties and lack adequate warning about potential blood-thinning properties due to failing adequately warning about such risks adequately through organo gold products contain such risks from Organo Gold products’ website or company for failing adequately warn about it being used blood-thinning properties from Organo Gold products being sold by Organo Gold products being made known and packaging;
2. Nausea
Ganoderma coffee contains caffeine, which may lead to nausea in some individuals. Furthermore, this beverage includes Ganoderma lucidum or Lingzhi/Reishi mushrooms which have immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties.
Numerous in vitro and animal studies have demonstrated the benefits of G. lucidum for its antioxidant, hypoglycaemic, and lipid-reducing properties, although results of clinical trials remain inconsistent.
Some users report weight loss from drinking Ganoderma Coffee as a side effect, likely due to caffeine’s metabolic-boosting abilities and its appetite-suppressing abilities combined. Ganoderma lucidum mushroom has anti-inflammatory properties which could potentially decrease heart disease risks as well as other chronic illnesses.
Study conducted on mice with pressure overload-induced cardiomyopathy showed that oral administration of a water-soluble G. lucidum extract every other day for 14 days improved their ejection fraction, corrected fractional shortening, reduced left ventricular hypertrophy and expression of circular RNA called Foxo3 which has been linked with heart failure development.
Reishi mushroom, in addition to its immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory benefits, has also been linked to improved sleep quality. Due to its adaptogenic properties and mental clarity-promoting abilities, reishi can take four weeks before most people notice its benefits for sleeping better; pregnant and nursing mothers should avoid it since reishi may interfere with certain medications such as blood thinners and sedatives as well as cause side effects when taken together; additionally it could also interfere with medications prescribed to people suffering from digestive disorders like IBS.
3. Vomiting
Ganoderma lucidum or Lingzhi has been proven to offer several health advantages; however, caution must be exercised as it could trigger adverse reactions for some individuals, especially those suffering from existing medical conditions. Over the last year, NPRA has received nine (9) local reports of kidney- and liver-related adverse reactions associated with consumption of Ganoderma products such as coffee, tea, Lingzhi capsules or any herbal or nutraceutical commercial product bearing Lingzhi or Reishi as ingredient names. Reports indicated symptoms such as increased levels of creatinine and urea (waste products normally removed by kidneys), acute interstitial nephritis (swelling of part of kidney filters), and worsening existing kidney impairment.
Ganoderma spore oil’s hepatoprotective properties have also been extensively researched. One study demonstrated how it could normalise ejection fraction and correct fractional shortening in a transverse aortic constriction mouse model of pressure overload-induced cardiomyopathy and heart failure, while a clinical trial proved its efficacy for those suffering mild hypertension.
Ganoderma coffee may have antiviral and antibacterial properties that could aid in fighting infections; however, its consumption can cause nausea and vomiting as well as blood-thinning properties which could prove dangerous if taken prior to medication or surgery. If experiencing such side effects it’s recommended seeking advice from your healthcare provider immediately and seeking appropriate treatment.
4. Nausea & Vomiting
Jason Johnson of Florida claims the Ganoderma Lucidum found in Organo Gold coffee may contain dangerous blood-thinning properties which were not disclosed to consumers, according to a class claim filed against it in 2015. Jason alleges severe blood loss that required multiple transfusions and an emergency operation due to taking Organo Gold coffee in 2015. In 2015 he purchased their coffee from Delaware distributors of Organo Gold. In this lawsuit he seeks punitive damages for breach of warranty, negligence, fraud, unjust enrichment against them both and Delaware distributors as a group as defendants for violations committed in 2015.
Over the last year, NPRA has received local reports of adverse reactions associated with consumption of Ganoderma or Lingzhi (also known as Reishi). These included elevated creatinine and urea levels in blood as well as acute interstitial nephritis of kidney filters as well as worsening of existing impairments.
Ganoderma is an all-natural remedy with multiple health advantages, including immune system support and anti-inflammatory benefits, blood sugar-reducing properties and helping with weight loss. However, some individuals may experience digestive issues after consuming this coffee product such as nausea and vomiting; other side effects can include interactions with certain medications and allergic reactions; should any adverse reactions arise, seek medical advice immediately.
5. Diarrhea & Vomiting
Caffeine and Ganoderma Lucidum combined may cause digestive issues in some individuals, including diarrhea and vomiting. Ganoderma coffee may interfere with certain medications such as blood thinners and diabetes medications.
Some consumers of Ganoderma Coffee report weight loss due to its metabolism-boosting effects from Reishi mushrooms and caffeine’s appetite-suppressing abilities; other users say it improves sleep quality.
The National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has received several reports of kidney-related adverse reactions suspected to be related to consumption of products containing Ganoderma – also referred to as Lingzhi or Reishi – from various local consumers. These include increased creatinine and urea levels in the blood, acute interstitial nephritis (swelling of part of the kidney’s filtering system), or worsening of existing impairments. NPRA advises consumers to exercise extreme caution when ingesting products containing Ganoderma muscaria, particularly those who already have medical conditions such as kidney or bladder conditions, and seek medical advice immediately if symptoms such as reduced urine output, frothy or dark urine, lethargy or feeling weak and yellowing of eyes and skin (jaundice) appear. Reishi mushrooms offer many health advantages that benefit immune system health as well as antioxidant properties.
