Reishi Mushroom in Your Coffee
Reishi mushroom-infused coffee may produce questionable results from searches; these recipes use organic reishi mushroom powder combined with cold brew for optimal caffeine and functional mushroom ingestion. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) has long been recognized for relieving fatigue, inducing restful sleep, and soothing frayed nerves.
Reishi mushroom powder is mixed with cold brewed coffee at a ratio of 1:5, yielding an acidity-reducing beverage that works particularly well for people suffering from acid reflux or GERD.
Traditional approach has been to consume reishi extracts as capsules; however, many cannot afford them and may experience adverse digestive side-effects from them. Reishi mushroom in your coffee offers more cost-effective and easier-to-digest solution.
Reishi mushroom contains several components to boost immunity, such as polysaccharides and beta-glucans, that support immunity. Reishi powder made from fruiting bodies contains four times as many of these anti-infection beta-glucans than its mycelium grown on grain counterpart.
Note that high doses of Reishi may reduce blood clotting, making it unadvisable for those taking anticoagulant medication. We therefore suggest starting off slowly with quarter teaspoon of mushroom powder, gradually increasing to one teaspoon after three days if your gut responds positively – typically this would be sufficient as daily dosage for most individuals.
