Reishi mushrooms are breathtaking creatures with amazing health benefits. ORGANO offers an extensive line of reishi products covering every stage of their development and lifecycle; we suggest beginning with mycelium before moving onto powder form as an easy, safe and effective introduction to what the world of reishi has to offer.

What is Mycelium?

Mycelium can sound intimidating, but it simply refers to the underground network created by fungi that connect thin threads that form its root-like network. While plants produce flowers and seeds as propagating agents, fungi utilize new cells created when colony forms from existing colony for expansion into dense environments; when growing in such conditions this network helps it absorb nutrients more effectively from surrounding soil.

Fungi have the ability to form connections between living organisms through mycelium networks called mycorrhizal networks, connecting trees and plants’ roots to water and nutrients from beneath their feet that would otherwise remain unattainable. Mycorrhizal networks play an integral part of forest environments as orchids require specific types of fungi for successful germination and growth; mycorrhizal networks play an essential role here.

Fungi are non-mobile organisms and cannot fend for themselves by hunting food themselves, so they rely on enzymes produced by bacteria to convert complex organic molecules from dead trees, branches, leaves, insects or other sources into digestible nutrients that they use for growth – recycling any leftovers back into mycelium for recycling purposes.

Mycelium relies heavily on decomposers like fungi to feed itself and grow, but its role goes further: scientists have discovered that mycelium actually allows these organisms to communicate through electrical impulses that sound almost like words and act similarly to neurons in our own brains.

These communication waves can help mycelium identify food sources, forecast drought or disease conditions, reroute energy and nutrients if necessary, and remain healthy so the fungus continues to flourish quickly.

Why is Mycelium Good for You?

Mycelium is the body of a fungus – its network that encases roots, fruiting bodies and spores to search out nutrients that support its organism. Reishi mushroom mycelium forms its heart; ORGANO has partnered with one of the world’s largest organic reishi farms to bring this incredible ingredient to North America.

Mycelium powder harvested from 18-day-old Ganoderma Lucidum mushrooms contains antioxidants, polysaccharides, and other essential nutrients that support immunity. This delicious option makes reishi more accessible without being overwhelming through polyspores; add it into smoothies or juice recipes for an energy boost! To use mycelium powder efficiently open vegetable capsules and pour the powder directly into beverages of choice!

How Does Mycelium Work?

TO ADD IN DESSERT: For your hot drinks and mass management products, Ganoderma is harvested when it has reached full maturity. By the end of 21 days, our experts collect mycelial filaments that resemble rootlets called mycelium; these filaments are considered the heart of Reishi and our experts transform them into beneficial supplements like Ganoderma Lucidum Mycelium supplements.

ORGANO has an exclusive partner in Fujian Xianzhilou Biological Science and Technology Company who provide support to ORGANO products by way of organic pesticide spraying; their support covers up to 99% of living spor from pests such as bugs and tiny flys known as Hyfy, that linger in complex kitchen environments.

What is the Difference Between Mycelium and Spore Powder?

Mushrooms have quickly become popular due to their antioxidant effects, immune-enhancing qualities and adaptogen properties. There are various varieties and methods of consumption. Whole mushroom powder is the preferred method, made by grinding dried mushrooms into a fine powder and maintaining all their essential nutrient compounds. There is also another type of mushroom powder called “spore powder” available on the market. Spore powder, often made of Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms, consists of harvested spores and mycelium from these particular fungi before any of their spores have begun germinating. Producing 2 pounds of spore powder requires harvesting over 2000 pounds of spores from this strain of mushrooms! Spore powder is more expensive than whole mushroom powder due to the production process being much more laborious and labor-intensive than producing whole mushroom powders.

Spores of mushrooms are released through their gills, teeth or pores on the underside of their cap and carried by gentle air currents until they find fertile ground where they will form fruiting bodies. Once this happens, mycelium develops that absorbs nutrients from their substrate to form mushrooms we see today – providing energy necessary for growth and reproduction.

Due to this reason, many mushroom cultivators opt to start with mycelium rather than spores when growing medicinal mushrooms. Mycelium allows cultivators to ensure the desired genetic traits appear within each mushroom they create while this may not be possible with spores due to unpredictable offspring that may produce offspring with unexpected genetic traits.

Mycelium can produce faster and more consistent yields than growing mushrooms from spores alone, as its network of hyphae absorb nutrients from the substrate more quickly and consistently than can spores alone. Furthermore, using mycelium makes controlling growing conditions much simpler–something especially essential when cultivating high-grade medicinal mushrooms.

Mushrooms such as reishi and cordyceps mushrooms can be highly effective supplements, with both having been demonstrated to increase GABA levels – an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain – while stimulating nerve growth factor production within human cells, helping improve cognitive performance and promote brain health.
