An easy, delicious, and effective way to use up leftover mushroom cake is making mushroom tea. This method is simple yet delicious!

Start off by grinding or cutting fresh or dried mushrooms into dust or into smaller pieces for easy delivery and reduced stomach discomfort. By adding ginger, lemon or mint into the mix you can increase delivery and decrease stomach distress.

Steeping

As with any infusion, steeping is an integral component of mushroom tea production. It allows flavors and medicinal effects of psilocybin mushrooms to come through more strongly during infusion.

Start by heating two cups of water in a kettle, and adding dried yarrow flowers. Steep for 20 minutes before straining through a fine mesh sieve to separate solids from liquid and press or squeeze mushrooms as necessary to extract as much psilocybin as possible from them.

Once you’ve created a mushroom tea, there are multiple uses for it. From drinking it solo to adding it to soups or hot dishes like quinoa for mushroom rice – its versatility knows no bounds!

Sumit, our founder, spent several years living across Southeast Asia and the US where mushrooms were an everyday pleasure, whether served up in soup or on a skewer. When he returned home, however, he realized India lacked many options for gourmet mushrooms; therefore he created Shroomery. Now our farm cultivates a wide array of exotic mushroom varieties which we deliver directly to homes and restaurant kitchens across Delhi NCR.

Boiling

Mushroom tea is a relaxing beverage made from various species of mushrooms. You can either use whole mushrooms or infuse dried powder into water for infusion, with medicinal mushrooms such as Reishi, Chaga, Lion’s Mane and Turkey Tail said to offer benefits including supporting immunity, relieving stress and improving focus while aiding digestion.

Strength of mushroom tea can be adjusted by altering both its ingredients and how long you steep it for. A general starting point should be one teaspoon per serving, though you can easily customize your dose based on individual needs. For optimal results, grinding or chopping mushrooms into smaller pieces prior to boiling will enable more easily extracted psilocybin in them into your tea brew.

Your tea will take on various flavors depending on which types of mushrooms you use; Reishi tea has an earthy, pleasant taste that’s excellent for immune health, while Chaga tea offers an astringent, woody taste, while Lion’s mane tea has milder tones and is mild and savory. A fine grinder or food processor will be helpful to ensure maximum surface area exposure during boiling – essential in extracting all its beneficial compounds into the drink!

Boil your mushroom tea at a lower temperature than you would for traditional hot beverages, to preserve some of its beneficial compounds and prevent any bitter or unpleasant tastes from developing. Overheating may result in degrading these benefits while creating an unpleasant flavor profile that leaves behind unpleasant leftovers.

Mushroom tea can be enjoyed as an individual beverage or used to craft other herbal beverages and medicines. A teaspoon of honey can add sweetness, while citrus adds zesty tang. A slice of ginger adds spicy heat and aids with digestion.

If brewing your own tea isn’t your cup of tea, mushroom-based supplements come in capsule form which you can incorporate into your morning or evening routine. Some people even take geletin capsules containing mushroom powder for continuous benefit from beneficial fungi throughout the day.

Simmering

Bring the same pot you used for soaking mushrooms to a boil, reduce to simmer, add soy sauce and continue to cook for 10-15 minutes until you achieve a thick and flavourful liquid.

Mushroom tea can be enjoyed alone or added to dishes like soups and stews for added depth of taste and texture. Once added to a sauce or stew, its unique mushrooms will quickly dissolve to become part of its unique sauce or stew experience. Furthermore, pre-cooked noodles or rice may be poured over to create a delectable broth!

Shiitake mushrooms make an excellent mushroom tea option due to their distinctive flavour; however, other varieties will work just as well. Fresh or dried varieties can be used, and chopped finely or ground into powder for even distribution throughout your beverage.

Sumit, who spent years living across Asia and the US where mushrooms were an everyday treat, was surprised to discover few options in Indian markets and restaurant kitchens for mushrooms he’d grown up loving. Feeling that something had to change, Shroomery was launched. From humble beginnings, today this company cultivates gourmet and medicinal mushrooms to be sold throughout Delhi NCR.

Straining

Mushroom tea is an enjoyable and easy way to experience functional mushrooms. Made with either fresh or dried mushrooms, mushroom tea offers an effortless way to unlock their health-promoting properties and experience their health-giving properties first hand. Reishi, chaga, lion’s mane and turkey tail mushrooms have long been used medicinally as stress reducers, immune support boosters, focus enhancers and overall wellness boosters; adding them into tea helps increase their bioavailability as well as digestion ease.

To make mushroom tea, bring water to a boil and add your desired amount of mushrooms (preferably dried mushroom powder or pieces to reduce clumping), stirring thoroughly so all parts are immersed. Reduce heat to simmer and allow steeping time of 20 to 30 minutes before straining liquid using fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth or tea infuser. Once complete pour this liquid directly into warm water cup for consumption!

If you have leftover tea, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days in order to reheat gently on either the stovetop or microwave before drinking it. Boiling can degrade some beneficial compounds found in mushrooms; always simmer slowly.

Add extra ingredients to your mushroom tea to enhance its taste and nutritional value, like honey or lemon, which will bring sweetness. A pinch of ginger adds warmth and spice, while adding cinnamon adds aroma while amplifying health benefits of this beverage.
