Is Organic Coffee Better For Your Stomach?
Coffee can be enjoyed by many, yet cause discomfort to some people. There may be relief available to those sensitive to its acidic components: there are new varieties which claim to be less gut-wrenching; evidence exists to support that type of coffee one consumes can make a difference in how it affects one’s digestive health.
Low acid coffee brews typically consist of beans grown at lower elevations or dried differently, or with double soaking as part of their fermentation process – these claim that this helps reduce bitterness while making it easier on stomachs – although no scientific proof exists to support such claims; personal sensitivity to caffeine still plays a part.
Option two would be using plant-based creamers, which can help to neutralize both caffeine and acid in your beverage while attenuating its effects. You must be wary when selecting such creamers due to potential hazardous components in them.
Try adding milk to your coffee, as a small amount may help bind some of the CGAs and prevent them from stimulating stomach acid. Just be wary of dairy’s saturated fats if possible!
Other solutions could include cold brewing or switching up your coffee brewing techniques; cold brewing tends to produce lower amounts of acidity than its hot counterpart. You could also experiment with green coffee – this unroasted variety won’t likely be any less acidic and may not lead to reduced symptoms for anyone.
