How to Order a Healthy Iced Coffee
Instead of visiting a coffee shop and purchasing sweet, sugar-laden drinks with hundreds of calories, make your own healthy iced coffee at home instead. Not only is it simple and cheaper; plus you have control of ingredients to tailor it exactly how you’d like – sweeter or vanilla flavors or just plain.
Start by brewing some high quality coffee and allowing it to cool so it is no longer hot – you can use either freshly brewed or store bought cold brew. Next, fill your glass with ice cubes before pouring the coffee over them and topping with your preferred milk (almond milk, coconut milk, soy, oat or whole cow’s would all work), adding maple syrup or agave nectar as low-cal sweeteners as desired.
At its heart lies an amazing benefit – this drink is much lower in calories and fat content than its traditional iced coffee counterpart, and using skim milk helps reduce it even further. Simply ask for a skinny iced coffee when visiting any coffee shop to be served one that contains much fewer calories and fat content than ordering mocha or latte-style beverages.
