People are increasingly swapping out caffeine-containing drinks in favor of mushroom-infused beverages for health reasons, citing their many health advantages–from stress reduction to immune support. One easy way to reap these advantages is sipping tea or coffee replacement made with blends of reishi, chaga and lion’s mane mushrooms–this caffeine-free beverage is tasty too and can even be sweetened with honey or sugar for extra flavour!

Homemade mushroom tea is easy to prepare and will quickly become an indispensable staple in your household. Simply double or triple as needed, store in an airtight jar for later consumption and enjoy hot or cold for an instant energy boost before work or school!

Begin by gathering all of your ingredients. Chopping or grinding mushrooms as needed and mixing in other medicinal herbs such as cinnamon and cardamom will add more flavor. Reishi, chaga, turkey tail and lion’s mane mushrooms were used in this recipe; you could substitute other medicinal species, but we suggest combining several in order to achieve maximum effectiveness.

Once the mushrooms and herbs have been added to a pot, bring to a boil over high heat until the water level reaches boiling point, lower to simmer and allow the mixture to simmer for six to eight hours before stirring regularly and making sure the water level always exceeds mushrooms and herbs to ensure the maximum nutrients can be extracted from this dish.

Once the mushroom mixture has finished cooking, pour it into a jar and leave some space at the top for air to escape during cooling; this will prevent an airlock at the top and ensure its contents remain in a stable form.

Store the jar in the fridge for two weeks; after this period, its flavor may change slightly but isn’t unpleasant. If you intend on keeping it longer than this period, consider using a container with an airtight lid and tight seal.

This jar method is simple to use and will produce similar results to boiling the mixture in a pot, yet is faster and more convenient since you can make your mushroom tea in a jar that fits easily into your refrigerator. Perfect for a quick energy boost or afternoon refreshment! This mushroom tea can also be enjoyed hot or cold.
