How to Make a Healthy Iced Coffee at Home
Iced coffee is an invigorating summer beverage that’s also healthy! When made at home, it’s sugar- and calorie-free compared to coffee shop purchases and much cheaper and healthier overall!
This recipe offers an effortless solution that lets you craft coffee to meet your personal preferences. You can use either cold brew, which involves steeping ground coffee beans for 12-24 hours to produce an intense yet less acidic coffee concentrate, instant coffee granules and the sweetener of your choice – and more besides!
Your choice of ingredients will greatly determine the taste and aroma of your beverage, so select those you enjoy most. For a stronger, more caffeinated drink, use a higher ratio of coffee to milk; for sweeter drinks use monk fruit extract, stevia or maple syrup instead; you could even spice it up further by adding cinnamon or nutmeg as seasonal additions!
To keep your coffee from watering down too quickly, we suggest using just a small amount of ice cubes to keep it chilled without making it too watery. You can make coffee ice cubes ahead and store them in the freezer – simply pour your chilled brew into an ice cube tray before freezing for up to three months! When ready to use them again simply place in a glass and add milk as necessary – feel free to use alternative dairy-free milks such as almond, coconut, oat milks soy etc!
