Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is well known for its potency as an immune booster and anti-ager, as well as for improving sleep and soothing anxiety. Reishi has long been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a tonic to promote wellbeing and longevity; additionally it may reduce fatigue during chemotherapy treatments for different cancers as well as support the body through chemotherapy/radiation cancer treatments.

Reishi is another nootropic that has been proven to support cognitive function, improve focus and concentration, and enhance memory. With a light earthy flavor that pairs nicely with coffee and an abundance of beta-glucan content, Reishi makes an excellent brain booster.

Reishi can add an extra boost of wellness to our morning coffee, perfect for combatting winter chills while aiding digestion. Our preferred method involves mixing powdered reishi into hot water before stirring in milk and maple syrup for an energising, warming drink that also supports your digestion! This recipe makes an excellent start to any cold winter morning!

Mushroom powders offer many health advantages all year long, but their benefits become particularly apparent during seasonal changes when colds or flus are more likely to arise. We advise taking two cups of mushroom coffee daily as an initial dose.

Note: When making Reishi coffee it is essential that the water temperature not reach boiling point as this would destroy many active compounds that would otherwise provide therapeutic benefit. Luckily powdered form can easily be stirred into hot water and left to steep as would a tea bag or bag of loose leaves.
