Ganoderma Green Tea Benefits
Ganoderma Green Tea is an exquisite beverage created by combining green tea leaves and rare Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms (commonly referred to as Lingzhi or Reishi) together in one delicious beverage. It strengthens body immunity, provides anti-ageing benefits, protects against cardiovascular diseases and cancer risks, helps weight loss efforts and detoxifies.
Studies demonstrate that taking green tea extract supplements can lower both high blood pressure and fat levels (including cholesterol and triglycerides (8).
Antioxidant
Combining green tea and Ganoderma lucidum (Lingzhi or Reishi in Chinese) is an effective way to both boost your immune system and increase vitality. These ingredients have powerful anti-aging effects as well as providing protection from various cancers; furthermore, this combination increases immunity and aids the body’s response against infection.
Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to as the “king of herbs,” has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine as an ancient medicinal mushroom to promote health, longevity, and treat various illnesses. It has long been utilized for stress reduction, liver support, and better sleep quality – among many other uses.
G. lucidum polysaccharides and oxygenated triterpenoids exhibit multiple biological and pharmacological activities, such as hypoglycaemic, anti-diabetic, antioxidant, and lipid-lowering activities. Lucidinic acids E and K as well as farnesyl hydroquinones ganomycin J and B inhibit HMG-CoA reductase similar to statin drugs (Chen et al. 2017). (See figure above)
G. lucidum has been shown in various studies to reduce proliferation, colony formation and cellular invasiveness of breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 cells. One research project demonstrated how adding green tea enhanced its anticancer effects by increasing expression of circ-Foxo3 protein within MDA-MB-231 cells.
Clinical trials have demonstrated the benefits of GL for cardiovascular health. It can reduce cholesterol levels, increase ejection fraction and even reverse progression of heart failure by inhibiting expression of matrix metalloproteinase-3. Furthermore, transverse aortic constriction models with mice show how GL helps prevent left ventricular hypertrophy while simultaneously increasing cardiac contractility.

Anti-inflammatory
Ganoderma lucidum mushroom has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine. Also referred to as Lingzhi or Reishi in Japan, this super-mushroom offers multiple health benefits: anti-inflammatory properties, cancer prevention benefits and improved heart health are just a few among many more benefits it brings – as are lower blood pressure levels and anxiety relief; additionally it increases energy and promotes mental clarity! Available as capsules and tinctures it makes an excellent addition to diets while simultaneously strengthening immunity against disease.
G. lucidum polysaccharides contain antioxidant activity and have been demonstrated to be gastroprotective in animal studies. One such study in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats found that hydroethanolic extracts from G. lucidum fruiting body reduced plasma glucose and lipid levels while simultaneously protecting pancreatic islets while significantly decreasing production of pro-inflammatory cytokines while simultaneously increasing levels of antioxidant enzymes.
G. lucidum polysaccharides possess antioxidant and other bioactive properties, with numerous other chemicals found within its fruiting body exhibiting bioactivity such as fungicine A, lignan, polysaccharide, Lucidic acid Eta and Farnesyl Hydroquinones (Ganomycin J and B). Furthermore, Ganoderma Lucidum has also been reported as having cholesterol-reducing effects by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase similar to what statin drugs would accomplish.
Research in human cells has demonstrated that Ganoderma polysaccharides suppress breast cancer cell proliferation, colony formation, and invasive behavior by blocking expression of oncogenic gene c-myc. When combined with green tea extract, their inhibitory effects were amplified significantly.
IHP’s Ganoderma Green Tea Blend offers all of the advantages associated with green tea combined with its proprietary Ganoderma mushroom extract to deliver an extraordinary experience for body, mind and spirit. This revolutionary formula not only supports digestive function but also boosts immunity levels while managing blood sugar levels – an impressive feat when taken regularly! Additionally, this tea provides antioxidant protection as well as serving as an appetite suppressant!
Anti-cancer
Green tea and Ganoderma Lucidum mushrooms have long been used as traditional Chinese medicines to combat cancer. When combined, their anti-cancer properties increase, inhibiting malignant cell spread while strengthening immunity systems and providing additional benefits. Active components in mushrooms promote lymphocyte proliferation while polyphenols from tea inhibit tumor cell growth. Eugenol found within mushrooms may modulate enzyme activity involved in carcinogenesis. This compound is an effective antioxidant and reduces oxidative damage in cells. Furthermore, it induces apoptosis in cancer cells to kill them without harming healthy ones and stop metastases from spreading to other organs – which is one of the deadliest aspects of cancer and leads to most deaths – therefore its inhibition becomes an area of interest and research and development for new therapeutic approaches.
Epidemiological studies have demonstrated that regular consumption of green tea lowers the risk of cancer; however, its mechanisms remain poorly understood. One component of green tea, (-)epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), has been found to interfere with processes related to cancer progression and metastasis: inhibiting tumor growth while suppressing angiogenesis in human prostate cancer PC-3 cells as well as inhibiting secretion of VEGF from cancer cells and stimulating their apoptosis.
Green tea’s key benefit lies in its ability to increase natural killer (NK) cell activity. This activity serves as an indicator of our immune surveillance mechanism and has been shown to prevent cancer. A recent study demonstrated this benefit when green tea extracts suppressed early lung cancer stages among mice susceptible to it, while combined green tea and Ganoderma Lucidum extracts prevented migration and colonization by B16F10 melanoma cells both in vitro and lung colonization in vivo.
In another study, researchers assessed the effect of Ganoderma lucidum/green tea extract mixture on MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells’ invasive behavior. This combination significantly inhibited adhesion and invasion by inhibiting secretion of Urokinase Plasminogen Activator (uPA). Furthermore, it induced apoptosis while simultaneously decreasing expression of Oncogene C Myc.
Weight loss
Ganoderma is an adaptogen, or substance which supports proper bodily functioning. It may help boost energy, balance hormones and reduce stress while showing anti-inflammatory and cancer fighting properties.
Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to in China and Japan as Lingzhi or Reishi respectively, has long been used as an adaptogen and general health booster. Studies on animals have demonstrated its anti-hypertensive, hypoglycaemic, and lipid-reducing effects; however human clinical trials have been inconsistent.
G. lucidum spore oil administration every other day to transverse aortic constriction pressure overload mouse models successfully improved ejection fraction, corrected fractional shortening, reduced left ventricular hypertrophy, suggesting cardioprotective effects. These were attributable to upregulating phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase and protein tyrosine phosphatase while simultaneously decreasing circular RNA (circ-Foxo3) expression levels – evidence for its cardioprotective properties
Water derived from fruiting bodies of G. lucidum as well as two peptidoglycans called Ganoderans A and B have demonstrated hypoglycaemic effects in normal mice as well as diabetic/db/db mice. Hypoglycaemic effects are attributable to three mechanisms, including increased insulin secretion, reduced hepatic glucose output and an increase in adipose and skeletal muscle glucose uptake (Pan et al. 2013). Further mechanistic studies must be conducted to ascertain the therapeutic potential of this fungus for preventing and treating type 2 diabetes and related metabolic abnormalities (see also references). ORGANO Organic Green Tea combines the power of green tea with the prized Ganoderma mushroom for an irresistibly delicious blend that not only supports your immune system, but provides energy, maintains balanced blood pressure levels, helps with weight loss by increasing metabolism, and tastes great too!
