Decaf Or Regular Coffee – Which is Healthier For You?
No matter which you enjoy more: regular or decaf, both types can have positive health implications. A moderate consumption of either caffeinated and decaf coffee has been associated with reduced risks of Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and neurological disorders; and can even boost metabolism to help weight loss and keep mood stable*. Pregnant and breastfeeding women, those suffering from high blood pressure conditions such as coronary artery disease or high blood pressure, people experiencing sleep issues due to bipolar disorder or taking certain antidepressant or asthma medications should limit caffeine consumption*
However, some individuals choose to omit caffeine from their morning cup of joe due to health concerns or sensitivities to caffeine. The good news is that both regular and decaf coffee seem equally beneficial for body, provided not too much sugar is added. A study with over 449,563 participants concluded that drinking unsweetened coffee was associated with lower risk for obesity and cardiovascular disease.
