Chaga Mushroom and Buddha Tea
Chaga Mushroom is widely recognized for aiding digestion, strengthening immune support and slowing the formation of harmful tissues. Commonly referred to as Cinder Conk Mushroom, its nonpsychoactive nature offers antiviral, antioxidant and hypoglycemic benefits. Buddha Teas’ Chaga Tea offers a subtle flavor perfect for relaxing morning cups – adding honey can sweeten it further for an enjoyable beverage experience!
Adaptogens
Mushroom Chaga Tea‘s nutritional adaptogens help your body to resist stress more naturally. Adaptogens are naturally occurring substances that help your body cope with anxiety, balance energy levels, promote physical and emotional wellness and enhance immunity function.
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), an edible charcoal-like fungus found on birch trees in coldest regions of the Northern Hemisphere, is highly revered for its immune-enhancing benefits and revered as one of nature’s richest “adaptogens,” providing antioxidant protection that promotes both immune health and cell protection.
Chaga can also help the immune system produce white blood cells – your natural defense against viruses and bacteria! In fact, its ORAC value surpasses even blueberries and turmeric in terms of its antioxidant capacity!
Buddha Teas Chaga Tea offers a medium body and smooth plant-like taste. Unlike some mushroom teas, ours does not taste earthy or “mushroomy”, making it suitable for all. Enjoy it alone or add milk of choice or honey for an amazingly soothing treat!
Antioxidants
Chaga is an extremely potent antioxidant, which strengthens your body’s ability to fight infections and boosts overall immune system health. Studies show it stimulates white blood cell production as part of its natural defense against viruses and bacteria1.1
Our premium chaga powder makes for a medium body and light plant flavor in this caffeine-free tea brew, perfect for anytime of day. Add milk or honey for an added boost!
Chaga extract can also be easily integrated into your diet through capsules, tinctures and coffee blends. As with all dietary supplements, start slowly and monitor how your body responds before finding the optimal dosage for yourself – as with all healthcare advice seek guidance from your provider if needed.
Anti-inflammatory
Mushroom Chaga Tea can help soothe an overactive immune system with its anti-inflammatory properties and beta-glucans/polysaccharides which inhibit harmful cells without impacting healthy ones, thus supporting immunity function and helping maintain normality in immune function.
Inonotus obliquus, more commonly known as Chaga, is a parasitic fungus found on birch trees throughout northern Europe, Siberia and Russia as well as Canada. Commonly referred to as the “clinker polypore”, due to its appearance resembling burnt charcoal it has long been utilized by folk medicine throughout these regions for its immune-enhancing and cancer fighting properties.
A soluble extract from Inonotus obliquus significantly increased colony-forming unit (CFU)-granulocyte/macrophage and erythroid burst-forming units in chemically immunosuppressed mice’ bone marrow cells, as well as inhibited production of TNF-a by splenocytes; this indicates potential use as an immunomodulator and warrants further research in treating autoimmune conditions such as psoriasis or type 1 (autoimmune) diabetes.
Mushroom Chaga boasts one of the highest ORAC values of any food or supplement – even surpassing Acai and blueberries! These potency antioxidants work to neutralize free radicals in our bodies and protect us against further oxidative damage.
Buddha Teas mushroom chaga tea is made with Assam tea, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, licorice root extract and cardamom seeds; medium bodied with an earthy-plant taste – an ideal beverage for anyone wanting a subtle energy boost without the traditional caffeine content found in coffee beverages.
Make this delicious chaga tea as either a hot or cold beverage, using milk and honey if you like a sweeter taste. Or mix with other beverages, such as lemonade or orangeade for an icy beverage that refreshes. Steeped and re-steeped multiple times until you achieve an ideal light infusion brew – with 4oz bags available, you can savor its healthful benefits as much as desired!
Immune support
Chaga mushroom has long been used by healers and herbalists in Eastern Europe, Russia, Korea, China, and Japan to enhance immunity while fighting off pathogens like viruses and bacteria.1 It can be found growing on birch trees in cold regions of the Northern Hemisphere and its use has been practiced for centuries by healers and herbalists across Eastern Europe, Russia, Korea China Japan. As its parasite form it protects trees from pathogens; while simultaneously stimulating white blood cell production while protecting from pathogens such as viruses and bacteria1.1 Its immune-supportive benefits include stimulating production of white blood cells while fighting harmful pathogens from viruses or bacteria1.1
Chaga contains not only immune-stimulating properties, but it is also an antioxidant, anticancer, antiviral, hypoglycemic and hypoglycemic agent. Furthermore, it’s an excellent source of vitamin D which may help improve mood and decrease inflammation2.2
Chaga mushroom differs from most mushrooms by being taken in tea form or as tincture for medicinal use rather than being consumed directly as food. Instead, its benefits lie in protecting against disease and increasing natural immunity through bioactive compounds found within it, including oxygenated triterpenes which may provide both antioxidant and immunomodulatory activity2.2
One such compound is Inonotus obliquus polysaccharide (IOPS), which has been shown to possess antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties. Furthermore, IOPS displays high cellular permeability levels while inducing differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells.
An analysis conducted on the immunostimulatory effects of an aqueous extract of Inonotus Obliquus found that its immunostimulatory properties increased CFU-GM and erythroid burst-forming units among chemically treated bone marrow cells significantly, as well as significantly increasing levels of IL-6 in these mice, an indicator of an enhanced immune response in hematopoietic tissues.
BioWhittaker conducted tests using an ELISA kit with Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) from BioWhittaker to detect endotoxins found in an aqueous extract of Chaga. Results demonstrated a low endotoxin content of less than 0.01 EU/mg and enhanced Concanavalin A-induced lymphocyte proliferation while significantly decreasing TNF-a levels in ConA sensitized mice splenic lymphocytes, suggesting its potential to enhance immune responses in chemically treated cancer patients as well as in autoimmune conditions like Psoriasis Rheumatoid Arthritis and Type 1 Diabetes.
