Ganoderma Lucidum Coffee Benefits
Ganoderma lucidum coffee, more commonly referred to as “reishi” or “Lingzhi,” is an instant coffee made with extracts of the Reishi mushroom and consumed as an instant beverage. According to clinical studies conducted so far, its benefits include antioxidative, hypoglycaemic and lipid-reducing properties.
Reishi coffee offers an experience that is both soothing and invigorating, blending bold, smooth coffee flavors with earthy and woody tones from the reishi mushrooms. A well-crafted reishi blend can bring all these elements together into a refreshing blend that leaves its guests both grounded and stimulated.
1. Reduces Stress
Ganoderma lucidum coffee offers consumers an engaging sensory experience, recalling forest floor, damp earth, subtle leather and umami notes. Furthermore, its artisanal cultivation, extraction and blending processes demonstrate craftsmanship’s value and demonstrate true appreciation of craftsmanship.
Triterpenoids and polysaccharides found in G. lucidum possess various antioxidant properties such as strong reducing power, hydroxyl radical scavenging activity, superoxide dismutase activity and superoxide dismutase activity (Mau et al. 2002). Furthermore, these agents also show cholesterol-lowering benefits as demonstrated in vitro and ex vivo studies with human hepatocytes, hamsters and minipigs (Berger et al. 2004).
G. lucidum ethanol extract has demonstrated neuroprotective benefits in an animal model of oxidative stress by modulating microglial activation and decreasing inflammation responses (Yoon et al. 2013).
2. Lowers Blood Pressure
This invention describes a three in one instant premix coffee which includes both coffee and powdered Ganoderma Lucidum extract (commonly referred to as Reishi or Lingzhi) which is a medicinal mushroom. Additionally, Cortex Eucommiae, Rhizoma Polygonati Radix Codonopsis Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae are included to reduce any bitter flavors found within Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom.
Studies involving Ganoderma lucidum have demonstrated beneficial effects on cardiovascular risk factors; however, the lack of significant changes to blood pressure (BP), lipid profile and inflammatory markers such as hsCRP and TNF-a could be due to insufficient bioavailability of its bioactive compounds; inadequate trial durations; ceiling effects within populations with normal baseline values or ceiling effects requiring further research in this area.
3. Lowers Cholesterol
Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to as Lingzhi or Reishi mushrooms, have long been prized medicinal plants due to their antioxidant properties and wide array of health benefits they bring, including lowering cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure levels.
G. lucidum spore oil provided significant cardioprotection against carotid artery ligation model mice by normalising ejection fraction and preventing neointimal thickening; its cardioprotective action was due to inhibiting circular RNA (circ-Foxo3) expression (Xie et al. 2016).
G. lucidum’s anti-cholesteremic and antioxidant properties have been demonstrated through both in vitro and ex-vivo studies conducted with hamsters and minipigs, as well as several in-vivo animal models such as rats. Its cholesterol-reducing effects are due to an inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase activity in liver tissue as well as elevation of neutral sterols and bile acids in stool samples; in one high fat diet test 2.5 g/kg G. lucidum significantly decreased total and LDL levels while increasing coprostanol and cholestanol (Wachtel-Galor et al 2011).
4. Lowers Blood Sugar
Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to in China and Japan as Lingzhi and Reishi respectively, has been used for over 2000 years for its health-promoting properties. Studies have demonstrated its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulant, hepatoprotectant and endocrine-regulating actions (Wachtel-Galor et al. 2011).
Water extracts of lily-flowered Ganoderma lucidum fruit bodies and two peptidoglycans known as Ganoderans A and B that were isolated through fractionation have been shown to have hypoglycaemic effects both in normal mice and alloxan-induced hyperglycaemic mice, while Ganoderan A has even been demonstrated to increase insulin secretion via stimulating Ca influx into pancreatic cells.
To prepare Ganoderma Coffee, the user should measure 5-20 weight portions of Ganoderma Lucidum and 4-12 weight portions each of Cortex Eucommiae, Radix Polygonati, Radix Codonopsis and Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae; then grind into powder before placing them into a reactor to be heated to boiling point.
5. Lowers Blood Pressure
Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to as Lingzhi or Reishi in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), is an herb used for general health and longevity in this practice. Studies on animals have confirmed its safety; furthermore, in vitro experiments demonstrate its hypoglycaemic, antidiabetic and antioxidant effects.
However, clinical trials examining G. lucidum supplementation have failed to show significant effects on cardiovascular risk factors, possibly due to limited bioavailability of its active compounds in humans compared with preclinical studies or trial duration issues among people with normal baseline values. This systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis addresses these concerns by reviewing data from RCTs with pure G. lucidum extracts or combinations such as Cordyceps sinensis as the subject and will identify an optimal dosage that will produce effective outcomes.
6. Lowers Blood Sugar
Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to in traditional Chinese medicine as Lingzhi or Reishi, has long been used as part of their regimen and has long been recognized for its beneficial properties such as immunomodulation, anticancer activity and increasing longevity. The main constituents are polysaccharides such as glucose, xylose, mannose and galactose in various conformations which exhibit multiple biological activities including modulating cholesterol synthesis and lowering blood sugar levels.
Studies using rat hepatocytes revealed that water extract from G. lucidum fruiting bodies and two ganoderic acid Df and B peptidoglycans provided hypoglycaemic benefits, including promotion of insulin secretion, reduction of hepatic glucose output and enhancement of adipose and skeletal muscle glycogen metabolism. Furthermore, oral administration of G. lucidum spore oil normalised ejection fraction and corrected fractional shortening levels in mice model of pressure overload-induced heart failure to show cardioprotective effects.
7. Lowers Blood Pressure
Ganoderma lucidum, an ancient medicinal mushroom with potential to improve cardiovascular and metabolic health, contains water-soluble polysaccharides, beta-D glucans, and triterpenes that have the ability to reduce oxidative stress, inhibit ACE activity, promote lipoprotein metabolism and boost overall well-being.
Fungus harvesting, drying, finely grinding and extraction processes typically used to add Ganoderma Lucidum coffee blends involve extensive cultivation efforts as well as complex blend combinations that ensure harmonious flavor combinations.
This results in a delicious low-acid, non-diuretic beverage that may help to stabilize blood sugar. Ganoderma lucidum’s soothing properties make it especially useful for acid reflux, GERD and IBS sufferers as well as those looking to maintain a healthy weight while still enjoying coffee – making this blend popular among those seeking complexity, cultural heritage and an exciting departure from traditional coffee drinks.
8. Lowers Blood Sugar
Scientific studies have reported that Ganoderma lucidum exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, hypoglycaemic and lipid-lowering properties; however, the evidence from clinical trials on these health benefits is somewhat mixed; large-scale clinical trials must take place to establish its effect on cardiometabolic diseases.
Ganoderma lucidum contains polysaccharides that may help lower cholesterol and boost immunity. When administered to both hamster and minipig models, administration of 2.5% dried G. lucidum reduced HMG-CoA reductase activity as well as cholesterol synthesis significantly.
Long-term consumption of coffee containing Ganoderma lucidum requires extensive studies that span years to ensure its safety. While short-term consumption has no evidence of harmful side effects, it’s wise to consult a healthcare practitioner regarding any new supplements; especially unstudied supplements with unknown long-term safety results.
9. Lowers Blood Pressure
Ganoderma lucidum contains polysaccharides, triterpenes and other bioactive compounds which have been demonstrated to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycaemic, antihyperlipidaemia and anti-angiogenic properties. Results from clinical trials conducted with Ganoderma lucidum supplementation vary significantly and often exhibit poor quality data.
Studies conducted in vitro show that oxygenated lanosterol fractions from G. lucidum inhibit cholesterol synthesis in hepatocytes, while 5% dried G. lucidum can decrease microsomal ex-vivo HMG-CoA reductase activity and total cholesterol (TC) levels in hamsters and minipigs. Furthermore, hydroethanolic extract of G. lucidum containing B-glucan and proteins have shown to decrease plasma glucose, triglyceride and cholesterol levels (Bach et al. 2018).
G. lucidum extract administration reduced oxidative stress while increasing superoxide dismutase and catalase activity, ultimately improving lipid metabolism and vascular function (Klupp et al., 2015).
10. Lowers Blood Sugar
Cultivation of Ganoderma Lucidum mushrooms is an intricate and time-consuming process. Their woody texture and kidney-shaped caps require special conditions in which to thrive, after harvest they must undergo an extraction process that isolates water- and alcohol-soluble compounds that integrate seamlessly with coffee.
Blending is critical in producing an appealing end result; too little extract may overpower the coffee while too much may produce an earthy or bitter profile that’s unpleasant to consume.
Reishi is another key component of these products, providing benefits like reduced fatigue, strengthened immunity, stress reduction and anti-ageing. With its rich cultural background and thoughtful integration into an everyday staple like coffee, Reishi’s inclusion offers consumers something out-of-the-ordinary – making these beverages appealing for consumers seeking complexity, cultural connections and something different than usual.
